Betty Boop with her big eyes and squeaky voiced catchphrase "Boop-Boop-A-doop!" was the first popular animated cutie. She starred in over 100 Max Fleischer cartoons from 1931 to 1939, and with her saucy attire she was seen as the innocent victim who through her inadvertent innuendos would often sound suggestive and enticing.
